CMAT Certification & Training

More often than not, there are multiple layers of addiction lingering beneath the surface of a sexual addiction. These too require treatment. IITAP has recognized this need and has developed a training process to help practitioners treat related diseases, including:

  • Chemical dependency/alcoholism
  • Financial disorders
  • Eating disorders

The CMAT certification uses the same task-centered approach as the CSAT®  program. Practitioners who successfully complete multiple trainings and exhibit competency in the tasks become either a CMAT (Certified Multiple Addiction Therapists) or an AMAT (Associate Multiple Addiction Therapist).

Contact an IITAP team member with questions about the CMAT and AMAT programs.

Note: At this time, the CMAT training process is only open to therapists that are CSAT-certified. However, it will soon be open to all therapists.

Certified Treatment Partners

The Institute for Sexual Health (ISH), located in Los Angeles, California, offers comprehensive sex addiction treatment for sex addicts, partners and couples. ISH utilizes a progressive sexual health model that integrates state-of-the-art sex addiction treatment with additional specializations in human sexuality alongside our pioneering work in sex addiction-induced trauma. The ISH 14-Day Sex Addiction Intensive Outpatient Program offers a rigorous treatment curriculum designed to address the spectrum of problematic sexual patterns that have become destructive to self and others. ISH also offers our innovative Six-Day Intensive for Partners, which provides vital information and clinical support for the traumatic impact sex addiction has on partners and spouses. ISH is the first and only facility that does not endorse or use a "co-addiction model" to treat partners or relationships impacted by sex addiction. For couples seeking highly customized intensive treatment based on their specific individual needs, we offer personalized programs for couples on a case-by-case basis. Our mission is to help people move towards integrity, intimacy and integration.
