Annual IITAP Symposium & Refresher

IITAP Annual Symposium

The IITAP Symposium is held each February in sunny Arizona.  IITAP Professionals come together for three full days of learning, networking, and the opportunity to have some fun in the sun!  The Symposium is preceded by the 3-day IITAP Refresher, for more information about the refresher, please click here.

The purpose of our Symposium is to provide Professionals in the IITAP community who are working within the field of Sex Addiction Therapy, evidence-based education, the latest in addiction research, and an opportunity to present their own research and experiences to expand their professional development and networks.  Each year brings several new opportunities to expand your skills as a therapist, to learn how to affect change when faced with difficult situations, and develop healthy balance within your own life. 

Topics of discussion can include:

  • Treating Adolescent populations
  • Treating the Couple
  • Treatment of the Offender-Addict
  • Incorporating the 30-task model into both in & outpatient treatment

The 10h Annual Symposium will be held in February at the Pointe Hilton Squaw Peak Resort in sunny Phoenix, Arizona.  The keynote speakers for this event will be Dr. Gabor Maté, a renowned speaker and best selling author on addiction; Dr. Pat Love, a fellow CSAT Candidate, relationship educator, and highly published author; and lastly, Dr. Patrick Carnes, leader, educator, author, and founder of IITAP.

Presenters

Presenter Criteria

  • The Primary Presenter must be in good standing as a(n) ASAT®, CSAT®, or PSAP®
  • Presenters must be available to present at any time during the Symposium (February 12-14, 2015)
  • The Primary Presenter is the contact person and is responsible for notifying all other presenters of acceptance, scheduling, and any other information needed by IITAP

Presentation Selection Criteria

In order to ensure we offer a wide array of presentation topics, all submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the IITAP Executive team.  Presentations are selected based on the following criteria:

  • The level to which the presentation supports the needs and current trends within the field of sex addiction treatment
  • Expertise and experience of the presenter
  • Originality and applicability of the material
  • Quality of the learning objectives and information gained for attendees
  • Consideration of Cultural Diversity and Ethics
  • Content must appeal to a diverse and broad spectrum of attendees
